Hi, I’m Rich and welcome to Cascade.

I’ve been a private client solicitor since 2001. Over the years I’m pretty sure I have experienced all the personal and professional challenges that a private client practitioner could face! I’ve also had the privilege of working with, and building, some of the most extraordinary teams. In 2023 Cascade turned 10, and began a new chapter that I’d like you to know more about.

A Movement with Real Purpose

Cascade began life as a consultancy operation, offering my specialist legal skills to the market after 12 years of private practice as a STEP accredited solicitor. This simple beginning gradually opened doors to deeper experiences in commercial operations and technology, to help me understand how to address some of the biggest commercial and personal challenges we have as private client lawyers.

Cascade’s next chapter will pursue simplicity.

For firms this will bring an invigorated team, new clients, maybe even a new, profitable department.

For private client colleagues this will bring opportunities to connect their lifestyle with their preferred ways of working.

For clients this will bring modern service delivery, customisable communication, and relatable content.

Embracing Innovation

I’m a huge fan of technology taking away repetitive tasks from my day-to-day and saving time that is best spent with clients, but I will always want it to fit around me, not the other way around.

I’ll always look beyond ‘legal tech’ to learn from other high-performing, often remote, professional service firms. Unsurprisingly, with the right blend of empowered people, lean processes, and appropriate technologies a firm can carve out a premium service that clients will love and actively promote.

Every private client team has its own ideas, ideals, and expectations. Cascade is here to bring these to life.

A Personal Mission

Beyond my professional life, I’m supported by an inspirational wife and four amazing children. My lifetime challenge is to enrich their lives by being present, relevant, and protective whenever they need it. This mission demands understanding and flexibility, values that are reflected by Cascade to create an environment that benefits us all.
