About Cascade

Hi, I’m Rich.

I’ve worked in Private Client law since 2001. Over that time I’ve experienced most of the professional and personal pressures our sector can generate, from complex client matters to building and leading teams, navigating commercial expectations, and confronting the quiet operational strain that so often sits behind strong demand.

In 2023 Cascade turned ten. That milestone marked more than longevity; it marked a change in direction.

Cascade is no longer simply a consultancy. It is a platform for improving how Private Client services are delivered - operationally, commercially and personally.

From Consultancy to Capability

Cascade began by offering specialist Private Client expertise to firms after twelve years in private practice as a STEP-accredited solicitor.

What began as a straightforward consultancy developed into something broader. Exposure to different firms revealed recurring patterns: capacity strain, recruitment friction, succession uncertainty, uneven use of technology and, perhaps most critically, talented practitioners carrying structural pressure that did not need to exist.

Cascade now exists to simplify that pressure.

For firms, this means building resilient, profitable departments without overextension.

For practitioners, it means finding working models that align lifestyle with professional standards.

For clients, it means modern, responsive service delivered without compromising depth of advice.

Practical Innovation, Not Noise

I am a strong advocate for technology - when it is applied thoughtfully.

Technology should remove repetition, protect judgement and create space for meaningful advisory work. It should not dictate how professionals think or behave.

Cascade looks beyond traditional “legal tech” and draws lessons from high-performing professional service businesses more broadly. When capable people are supported by lean process and intelligent systems, service quality improves and commercial performance follows.

This is not reinvention for its own sake. It is deliberate refinement.

Driven by Curiosity

Change, in my view, is a natural state.

Curiosity has shaped Cascade from the beginning. It drives exploration of better operational models, cleaner supervision frameworks, and more sustainable capacity planning for Private Client teams.

If you are thinking about the future direction of your department, your practice model, or your service delivery, I would welcome a conversation.

A Personal Anchor

Beyond professional ambition, I am sustained by my wife and four children. My ambition outside law is simple: to be present, relevant and protective in the moments that matter.

That perspective shapes Cascade. The way we build teams, structure delivery and approach commercial growth is informed by the belief that sustainable professional success should enhance life, not consume it.

Where PrivateClientPro Fits

PrivateClientPro is a practical expression of Cascade’s next chapter.

It reflects the belief that Private Client departments deserve more than temporary relief when pressure builds. Instead, they should have access to structured, specialist capacity that protects supervision standards, preserves margin, and restores strategic focus.

For firms carrying sustained demand or navigating transition, PrivateClientPro provides a controlled bridge - not simply a short-term substitute, but an integrated extension of capability.

It is one way in which Cascade translates insight into operational stability.
